You’ll study the four main atmospheric layers—Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, and Thermosphere—and understand their defining characteristics, boundaries, and temperature variations. You’ll learn how weather forms, how temperature changes with altitude, and how these variations impact aircraft performance. The module also introduces you to the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA), including standard temperature, pressure, and density values, and how they are used in aviation to calculate performance, calibrate instruments, and plan flights.
